Helping make your smile one that shines

CT Scanner

(Located at our Downtown Implant Centre) Our newest technological advance comes in the form of the first of its kind in Manitoba! Because you are a 3-dimensional person, we feel it's best to take pictures of you in 3-dimensions as well. This technology has 10x less radiation than medical grade CT Scanners! This means it is safer for you and safer for me!

Placing implants quicker, safer and easier means less post-op pain for you and more predictable outcomes for us! Come check out the new standard of care - 3D digital radiography.

CEREC® - One Hour Crowns, Inlays and Onlays

CEREC® is a revolutionary system that enables your dentist to design, fabricate and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit, a procedure that would normally take at least two weeks.

There are several advantages to having treatment with CEREC®

It starts when we take a high-resolution, digital image of your damaged tooth with the special CEREC® camera, and generate a 3D model of your tooth. CEREC's® Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technology then allows you and Shine Dental to design the restoration on a computer monitor right at your chair!

CEREC® Systems

Then the CEREC® system takes over, and begins to sculpt your new restoration out of a very durable, contiguous block of ceramic. Two high-speed diamond-topped drills and disks work together to ensure that the restoration fits precisely into your existing tooth. We then use ultra-strong adhesive to bond the restoration to your tooth. We can replace old amalgam or composite fillings and even old crowns. CEREC® has quickly become the new gold-standard of dentistry!

VELscope - Discovering Oral Health Problems

The VELscope system helps us in discovering oral health problems including oral cancer in the tissues of your lips, mouth and upper throat. In just two minutes, with no rinses, stains or discomfort. The next time you visit Shine Dental ask for a VELscope exam.

How Does the VELscope Work?

The VELscope's blue light "excites" molecules (called "fluorophores") deep within the layers of oral mucosal tissues. In turn, those fluorophores emit their own light (fluorescence), in shades of green, yellow and red. The VELscope's proprietary filter makes fluorescence visualization possible, by blocking reflected blue light, and by enhancing the contrast between normal and abnormal tissue.

And More...

We're confident in our workmanship, and we will stand by the work that we provide you. As a result, Shine Dental offers all patients a limited dental warranty for the investment you have made in preserving your oral health.
